Michelin
is a leading manufacturer and distributor of tires for all types of vehicles.
SPACE has been brought on board to design both the exterior and interior
of the new Michelin headquarters building in Queretaro, Mexico. The project
will be completed in two phases totaling 100,000 square feet. An emphasis
on sustainable design and energy optimization is pervasive in the design
of the energy systems and building shell.
HSBC
and Technoparc
HSBC is an international financial institution and world-banking leader
with over 9,500 offices in 79 countries. SPACE is working with HSBC to
design an 180,000 square foot operations center and call center to be
located in Tecnoparque, a new Mexico City 1,000,000 square foot development
targeted for operations functions. SPACE was a member of the Tecnoparque
master planning development team. The buildings are designed for optimal
space use efficiencies and for sustainability, with daylight harvesting,
extensive vegetation, and located for public transit access. An array
of adjacent technical training centers and college campuses also provide
for substantial community development opportunities. Our congratulations
are extended to HSBC for their support of global sustainability and local
redevelopment opportunities.
Design for a call center of 160,000 square feet was approved to begin January 2004. The fast track facility will be occupied and operational in July. The project is a three-story build to suit ground up facility, constructed in partnership with the Gilbane Building Company.
